The movement from Scorpio to Libra suggests that intense attachment must return to explicit terms.
The larger Venus cycle
Venus retrogrades about every nineteen months and traces a five-point pattern across the zodiac over eight years. The cycle includes a pre-retrograde passage, the station, an inferior conjunction with the Sun, the direct station, and a final passage through the reviewed degrees.
The first pass introduces the value question. Retrogradation returns to it. The conjunction with the Sun marks a seed or reorientation in the Venus cycle. The final pass implements new terms.
Look back roughly eight years for related themes in nearby zodiacal territory, but do not expect identical events. Natal context and the rest of the sky differ.
Venus in Scorpio
Venus is traditionally in detriment in Scorpio, Mars's domicile. This does not mean people with Venus in Scorpio love badly. It means Venusian joining must operate under Mars's conditions: intensity, separation, risk, defense, and the need to confront what is hidden.
During the retrograde's Scorpio phase, questions can include exclusivity, jealousy, shared money, erotic trust, resentment, debt, inheritance, privacy, and the fear that vulnerability transfers power.
Mars's condition describes how these questions are handled. Clean Mars creates boundaries and directness. Distorted Mars uses threat, silence, or control. No astrological symbolism excuses coercion.
Return to Libra
Venus returns to Libra, one of its domiciles, where it has more authority to negotiate, compare, balance, and make agreements. Yet retrograde Venus in dignity is still revising. The resources are available, but the terms are not finished.
Libra asks what each party gives, receives, and is permitted to decide. Harmony without explicit terms can conceal inequality. Fairness is not always identical treatment; it is proportionate and consensual arrangement.
The direct station in late Libra can mark a turn toward decision, but the final shadow passage remains important for implementation.
Mercury retrograde overlaps
Mercury is also retrograde in Scorpio from around October 24 to November 13, 2026. The overlap intensifies review of language and value, especially around privacy, trust, contracts, money, and emotionally charged disclosures.
Venus asks what the bond is worth; Mercury asks what has actually been said and documented. This is a strong period for revising terms, recovering omitted information, and distinguishing attraction from agreement.

For an Aries Ascendant, Libra is the seventh and Scorpio the eighth: partnership terms lead into shared resources, trust, and intimacy. For a Taurus Ascendant, Libra is the sixth and Scorpio the seventh: work and routines connect with contracts, clients, and partnership. For a Libra Ascendant, the first and second houses connect identity with value and income.
The natal houses Venus rules, Taurus and Libra, remain active throughout the cycle. A Gemini Ascendant, for example, has Venus ruling the fifth and twelfth, connecting creativity, pleasure, children, romance, retreat, and hidden patterns with the current Libra-Scorpio houses.

- What resources, labor, privacy, or risk are shared.
- What boundary would make reciprocity clearer.
- What remains the other person's decision.
